My Macquarie photocompetition

Macquarie River Trails – RiverSmart launch ‘My Macquarie’ photocompetition

RiverSmart and Macquarie River Trails is delighted to announce the launch of the My Macquarie photocompetition, with the support of the R.M Williams Outback magazine, Dubbo’s Weekender, Orana Mutual and a host of local businesses.

The competition opens today, 9th November and runs through until the 30th.  The four winning entries (first, second, third plus a junior prize) will be judged by RM Williams Outback magazine and feature in a future edition. A selection of images will also be included in the Dubbo Weekender magazine after judging has taken place.

Speaking today, CEO of RiverSmart, Dr Bill Phillips said, ‘We felt it was time to encourage people to show how much they appreciate the Macquarie. Despite all the recent concerns about littering and dumping by a minority of thoughtless people we know the majority love the river, so this competition is designed to let them showcase the river, it’s beauty and the many ways we get to enjoy it.’

First prize is three nights accommodation at country accommodation near Warren and the Macquarie Marshes – including one night at Haddon Rig Merino Stud’s Jackaroo Lodge, one night at Kiameron’s Riverside Cottage and one night at Billabulla’s beautiful Country Quarters (conditions apply), plus an annual subscription to RM William’s Outback magazine.  Second, third and the junior prize are also fantastic thanks to the generosity of all the local businesses supporting this initiative.

Those planning to enter should make sure to first check out the Conditions of entry and how to submit your images through the Facebook page of Macquarie River Trails, or

So get out there people and let’s show the World what a wonderful river the Macquarie is!
